World Future Energy Summit

It was my privilege to attend the World Future Enery Summit in Dubai in 2009. There were two standout ideas in addition to the keynote speech from our then crown prince Willem-Alexander and the impressive exhibitions:

1. There is an exponential growth in the demand for energy. The point is not to replace a bad source of energy with a clean one, but to make everything as efficient and clean as possible.
2. A private dinner hosted by Vinod Khosla revealed that concrete for new buildings is the main source of CO2 pollution besides meat production. Always keep in mind what the real bottleneck is.
